As the country's fastest growing city, the demand for healthcare services continues to rise. Buckeye is a young, family-oriented city that is an ideal location for a variety of new healthcare services including outpatient facilities, specialty services, pediatrics, women's health, sports medicine, hospitals and more.
When Buckeye launched the Healthcare Initiative, the city conducted a Healthcare Market Study . The study is driven by local and industry data, and guided the formation of the healthcare initiative. There are two phases the the Healthcare Market Study.
Buckeye's Healthcare Market Study focuses on Emergency Center data. The data was purchased from Intellimed to support the city's healthcare initiative. Because of the shortage in overall healthcare services in Buckeye, it can be assumed that trends found within the Emergency Department data also apply to outpatient services as both are vastly underserved in Buckeye.
Buckeye is under-served in healthcare and as the community continues to grow the addition of healthcare services for our residents is an important initiative for the city. Neighboring communities with similar populations have more than three times the medical facilities per capita of Buckeye and as one of the fastest growing cities in the country the gap in local services continues to rise. Buckeye has a strong payer mix and has nine medical facilities currently serving the community.
While 48% of all services are being exported, the 52% that are receiving emergency department services in Buckeye are going to the Abrazo Emergency Center - Buckeye on located in the Sundance District where they see 18,000+ visits a year.
Buckeye residents are frequenting Abrazo Health, Banner Health and Dignity Health facilities most often. Some of this may be in part to the providers proximity to Buckeye.
Most notably, the 3rd most visited hospital by Buckeye residents was Phoenix Children’s Hospital – Main Campus, which is the furthest away from Buckeye.
With an average age of 33yrs old, and a growing family population, this illustrates the importance pediatric service needs are for Buckeye residents and their families.
