Hospice Sun City Arizona

Hospice Care

Sun City

Healthcare Facilities

Within the borders of Sun City AZ there  are numerous medical doctors, dentists, eye, hearing and other  specialists, and a top-rated medical center. Getting around is easy too.  Many Sun City AZ residents own and use licensed golf carts as their  transportation around the community. These are allowed on all Sun City  AZ streets with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less. Not only is this  transportation option extremely economical for trips to grocery stores,  drug stores, and shopping centers, it also provides residents with the  transportation to reach a variety of local healthcare services.

Heathcare & Facilities Are Among the Best

Located in the middle of Sun City AZ is  the Banner Boswell Medical Center where Sun City’s residents have  received outstanding patient care since 1970. More than 700 physicians  provide a full spectrum of medical services. This welcoming, supportive  environment encourages family and friends to participate in the  treatment and healing process. Primary specialty areas at Banner Boswell  include cardiology, neurosciences, orthopedic, rehabilitation, and  oncology services.

Banner Boswell is a designated NICHE  hospital through the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing. The NICHE  (Nurses Improving Care for Health System Elders) designation means that  Banner Boswell has met the criteria for providing optimal care to the  geriatric population. Banner Boswell became a nationally-certified Joint  Commission Primary Stroke Center in 2010 and has been designated a  Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College  of Surgeons Commission on Cancer since 1987. Banner Boswell’s Medical  Imagining department holds the American College of Radiology  accreditation for CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine,  and PET.

World-class Medical Research & Support Services

Thanks to the Banner Sun Health Research  Institute, Banner Boswell patients have access to world-class research,  medical experts, and clinical trials without ever leaving Sun City AZ.  The Institute focuses on research, clinical care, prevention, and  education regarding age-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s and  Parkinson’s diseases, arthritis, and cancer. The Banner Sun Health  Research Institute is one of just 31 Alzheimer’s Disease Core Centers in  the nation.

Along with superior medical care  available in Sun City AZ, there are also a variety of support groups and  options available for Alzheimer’s Caregivers, Aphasia, Breast Cancer,  Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS), Laryngectomee, Ostomy, Parkinson’s,  Parkinson’s Partners, Respiratory, and Stroke. These support groups and  facilities are extremely helpful for those afflicted as well as their  families and caregivers.

A Community Focused On Individuals

Not only is world-class medical help just  minutes away from any Sun City AZ residence, when 911 is dialed for  emergency medical assistance, the Sun City Fire Department is dispatched  with paramedics that are highly revered and respected within the  community who are considered among the best-trained paramedics  available.

To assist their emergency medical  response to residents of Sun City AZ, many homes have lock boxes with a  key inside that only the Sun City Fire Department can open to gain  access to locked doors. Once inside, Sun City AZ residents are  encouraged to have the “Vial of Life” available for the paramedics. The  “Vial of Life” is a recycled prescription medication bottle. While it  does not have medication inside, it does contain forms that residents  have prepared and documented their medical history, current medications,  any allergies, primary care physician, and more. With its bright red  sticker, the “Vial of Life” can be easily spotted in a visible location  in the refrigerator. Volunteers at Banner Boswell Medical Center assist  residents in assembling the vials. They are available at no charge to  Sun City AZ residents.
